Ute Lake State Park

Just outside Logan, New Mexico lies Ute Lake State Park, featuring lakeside camping for the best of both desert and water recreation.

Ute Lake

Ute Lake is formed by a reservoir on the Canadian River, and at 13 miles long, it is one of the longest lakes in the state. Visitors can access the lake through an onsite marina, which offers a variety of water sport activities. Ute Lake offers some of the best walleye fishing in New Mexico. Anglers can also vie for the bass, crappie and catfish that call Ute Lake home. The lake is open for fishing year-round, day and night, and is known for producing several state-record game fish over the years. Wildlife photographers and enthusiasts can enjoy exploring the many inlets around the lake, which are known to support thriving populations of ducks, quail doves and pheasant. Deer and antelope are frequently spotted roaming the surrounding plains.

Park features and amenities

The park features reserved camp sites for both RVs and tents, modern restroom facilities and covered picnic and group areas. Sports enthusiasts are sure to love the nearby baseball field, and for the kids, a fun playground underneath a shady canopy keeps the fun cool under the hot desert sun. Nearby, Logan has four motels available to visitors to the park, as well as basic services for residents and travelers alike.

Whether visitors are looking for a getaway that offers fishing, water sports or camping, they can find it all and more at Ute Lake State Park.
