Brantley Lake State Park

Men, women and children of all ages love to spend time in the warm summer sun at Brantley Lake State Park. This state park is built around the southernmost lake in New Mexico and offers numerous activities for visitors during all months of the year.

Accessing the park

Visitors have an easy time finding the park. It is only 12 miles north of the city of Carlsbad on Route 285, then 4 miles north on Country Road 30, and there is plenty of parking at the facilities.

Activities and play

Visitors to the park have their choice of several outdoor activities. Watersports are the primary focus. Boating is common, and many guests also come to water-ski, sail and fish. Anglers have a lot of success catching warm water fish. Largemouth bass are plentiful, as are white bass, channel catfish and crappie. Fish in the lake are safe to consume and many fishermen do so.

Family activities

After a long day on the water families can enjoy a picnic at one of the park's picnic areas. They can also take hikes down the easy to moderate hiking trails or enjoy a geology exploration tour.

Camping

Brantley Lake State Park offers prime accommodations for those who like to camp. There are 52 electrical sites on the grounds for RV's, as well as public showers, restrooms and a dump station.

Families and adventurers of all ages can have a great time on or off the water at Brantley Lake State Park. The park is open to visitors year-round.
